I'm flying out the door, but I am thinking about all of you in P-town enjoying Women's Week. Have Fun and make sure you say hi to Jim and Damian for me at the Lyman-Eyer Gallery reception this evening.

Hey Judy,
WOW!!! What a great "Women's Week" in P-town. Jim Lyman at Lyman-Eyer Gallery is wonderful and hosted a lovely reception for your opening on Thursday evening, Oct.16. You were in good company with the works of Sally Brophy, Madeliene Abling and Cid Bolduc. There were several inquiries and sales, so Sister, get busy!! The town was full of incredibly talented women, including famed comedians, Paula Poundstone, Michele Balan, Suzanne Westenhoefer, Judy Gold, Jennie McNulty,Vicki Shaw, Poppy Champlin, and Maggie Cassella. Kudos to hot-pink-wigged, comedian, Jackie Monahan, barking outside the Art House, along with the other "Dykes On Mics", Leah Dubie, Amy Beckerman, and Gloria Bigelow. These ladies had you laughing before you got into the theatre, making themselves available to the passing crowds. Mimi Gonzalez & Amy Tan left you in tears and stomach cramps, and of course, the comedic diva of P-town, Kate Clinton, thankfully and again, delivered her clever and well crafted, gray-matter-stimulus. Karen Williams, Robbyne Kaamil, Jessica Kirshon, and Kate Rigg and Rachel Tomlinson gave side-splitting performances releasing their audiences to the street still giggling. Musically, P-town veterans, Suede and Franklyne performed at Vixen's, while VIRAGO (Amy Schindler and Maire Tashjian) were the "Pied Pipers" of P-town kicking off "The Really Big Show" at the UU. Town would not be the same if not graced by the presence of the multi-talented, Lizzie Borden, who only gives the axe to bad news and no talent. Lizzie shared the love with warm-hearted, Lorijo Manley who closed the show, receiving a standing ovation. VIRAGO also hosted and performed at the singer songwriters showcase at the Cabo Lounge. The event was produced by "Women's Kiss" (Kickass Independent Songwriters Show) in conjunction with Vixen. Along with VIRAGO were artists, Rebecca Katz, Susan Sousa, Maria Du Biel, Carrie Ashton, Ditto, Diane Durrett & Melissa Massey, Sahffi, Heather Rose & Keturah Burgess, Tiger & Lilly, Sara Leketa, Melissa Sigler, Annie Rich and Tracy Rice. At the Crown and Anchor, Heather Reid performed solo and with her band, "Redcar", while Lucie Blue Tremblay & Friends did a one night gig for The Breast Exam Project at the UU. HOW was out in full force, tirelessly putting out the message and holding its 17th Annual Auction. The silent auctioneer, Jim Bakker had his hands full with several, donated pieces of original artwork by highly acclaimed artists. HOW also had transportation from Town Hall to the Provincetown Inn, where the auction was held, for comfort and convenience. Visit HOW on the web: www.helpingourwomen.org or call 508-487-4357. Thank you HOW! "Gollywood" hit town with "Last Summer at Bluefish Cove". Stars, Jennifer Coolidge, Michelle Clunie, Erin Daniels, Perry Reeves and Darlene Van Alstryne, performed two readings at The Art House, followed by a Meet and Greet, an L Word Party, and an HRC hosted meet and greet with Dani Campbell. So many lesbians...so little...oops, gotta hit the ATM...expensive week, but SOOOO worth it... if I have not mentioned someone, please forgive me, I just could not get everywhere.
RECECCA ALVIN, editor of Provincetown, Magazine we love you!!! Thank you.
All of the entertainment venues worked their butts off for us...as did my favorite chicks at DianeZ's.
WAIT...one more thing...well maybe two, or three. I just want to say Thank You to all of our Brothers who made their Sisters week very special. Special thanks Jim Lyman at Lyman-Eyer Gallery, and to Stan, Lenny and Danny at Romeo's Holiday...home away from home!!! Some places closed down altogether, so, for those men in our lives who stayed and weathered the storm...YOU ARE THE BALLS!!!
MICHELLE CRONE and DANNY LACOMBE...the UU, the Art House, the town, all of it...many, many, many, thanks...without you and the committee members, there would not be a "Women's Week" in P-town. YOU ARE BEYOND BALLS!!!....love you all...Damian
