Hi Judy,
your thought make me think ;-).
I am Italian, born and living in Italy and I have to say that I love being Italian too - even though there are so many things of Italy that I can't stand.
I am just wondering what makes an American of Italian origin happy of being Italian.
Sorry if the question is too stupid to be answered to.
Happy 2009 - Buon Anno.
Ciao.

In Art you have good reasons to love being italian, look how beautiful are the masterpieces of Artists like Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio, Raphael, Donatello, Sandro Botticelli and many others...
Look how the Nature is so beautiful in places like Viterbo, Tuscany, Lago di Como, it seems that a "Divine Artist" did a perfect work...
You are American, your family is Italian and, maybe they brought in their hearts a "seed" of the "sense of creativity", being they artists or not, and this "sentiment" was received by you.. Who knows?
We can see in your work that the sensibility of an Artist was born within you since the begining of your life... and you are constantly developing...

Judy, you feel being Italian in your heart, i hope that you like Italian cinema.

The film "Cinema Paradiso" is from the Director Giuseppe Tornatore, with soundtrack of the Composer Ennio Morricone, may not be the greatest film in the world but is my favorite. The film is Perfect!
A real masterpiece, it makes us laugh and makes us cry, with no special effects, just pure emotions and feelings.
The film "speaks" to us that doing something without intense passion and without intense love is not worth, it no matter the reward.

This film is beyond words. This film "speaks" to us a silent language, a language that awakens our soul.
It is full of delightful "touches of soul", but the best and simplest of all is the final scene, when Toto's opens a "present" that Alfredo let to him, Toto discovers that the film is a compilation of all the scenes that Alfredo was forced to cut from the films when he was the projectionist. This is a profound act of love.

And now a praise to legendary Composer Ennio Morricone for what is in my opinion the most beautiful soundtrack that i ever heard. The music is able to instilling in us senses of pain, love, happiness, and others emotions throughout the movie.

The film must be seen in the original version, if you don't speak Italian you can use the subtitles, the italian voice is what makes this film a "poem", this is the "Magic of Cinema".

Judy, the last part of my comment is for You:

Your photographs are beyond words, your photographs are speaking to our soul a silent language.
Your photographs are perfect, are perfect through the simplicity, are pure emotions and feelings.

Promise to yourself that you gonna be an Artist in Photography forever, and that you gonna do always your work with Passion and Intense Love.

Hi Judy,
I think you may remember me. I am another Italian with the last name Marciochi.
I have a tee-shirt that says, "The trouble with eating Italian food is three days later you're hungry again".
Love Ya,
Tina
